The Pride Charlotte Festival will be held Saturday, Aug. 25-Sunday, Aug. 26 2012. Come join a great group of volunteers at Pride Charlotte, one of the largest LGBT Pride events across the Carolinas. We’re looking for volunteers of all ages, all skill levels and all backgrounds. Our volunteers are some of the hardest working in the Carolinas. Year after year, they execute a large number of tasks needed to ensure the festival is successful. Returning volunteers will find many changes this year that we hope will excite and energize the entire community.
Why should I volunteer?
First and foremost, it’s fun! You can meet new people while showing support for the LGBT community, and the festival is a great place to network!
What kind of volunteer work is needed?
Pre-Pride marketing: Help the Pride Charlotte Committee distribute posters, brochures and Pride Guides in Charlotte and other various publicity tasks.
Pre-Pride events: Help us organize and staff various pre-Pride events in the months leading up to Pride Charlotte, including our Pride Week events.
Pride festival set-up: Help set up tables, chairs, tents, banners/signage, decorations and assist other vendors in setting up their exhibits.
During the festival: Various volunteer areas are needed during festival hours, including:
- Meet and greet teams
- Beverage teams*
- Green/clean teams
- Partners in Peace
- Hospitality
- Other areas, including entertainment, finance, VIP area and more.
* All beverage team volunteers must be 21 years of age or older. Bartending, serving, or festival beer experience is preferred.
Festival strike-down: Strike-down tables, chairs, tents, banners/signage, decorations and assist other vendors in setting up their exhibits.
How do I sign up?
To volunteer with the Pride Charlotte Festival, you must complete the online application and provide all required information. It will not be shared with anyone or any other organization.
